Congratulations to Cara for winning an Excellence in Public Education Award from the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF - District 8). Here is why Cara was acknowledged:
There are no words to describe the level of care and compassion Cara shows to everyone, everyday. Cara is kind, empathetic and supportive in her role as Educational Support Staff. Cara works with a student that is medically fragile, and has been with him since Junior Kindergarten. He continues to flourish in Grade 4, thanks to Cara. Even though she is attached to one student, Cara includes all students and welcomes everyone. Knowing Cara is in the building means knowing that kids are safe and cared for.
